What is a Hero? The definition of a hero has changed drastically from the time when our parents were our age some thirty years ago. A man in tights that flies around saving damsels in distress from their kidnapper/evil do-er. That sight has long been forgotten. Now-a-days, kids still have the belief in heroes that fly, but instead of them flying to save town hall from Dr Krypton, they're flying to the rim of a basket ball hoop. I think that real heroes have a secret identity (they aren't noticed). I still believe in the thought of a man or woman saving the lives of another as heroic (I'm old fashioned). I'm not trying to imply that I think one day I will be saved by a man wearing a bright green and white spandex ones-y, but I'm saying that there are still people out there who believe in doing right by others. In my eyes, the troops that put their lives at stake day in and day out to keep "peace" in this dysfunctional world we live in are my heroes. Peace is such a vague word to use, my definition of the word is: a state at which we can take a walk in the park and not worry about being harmed in anyway. Even though our troops have been accused and proven of heinous crimes, they have kept war out of our country (or saved the damsel in distress). This to me not only shows how heroic they all are, but also how dedicated they are. As people are always saying, the unsung heroes are saving this world, isn't kinda ironic that the "super suit" of a soldier is camouflage?
